When I started back to school to finish my degree to get a better job, the money got really tight during those last few credits I had to earn. We cut back on everything. We even looked for cheap car insurance to get us through until I had my degree and the job that was waiting for me once I earned it. Now that was over a year ago, and I have been working at a much higher paying job for several months now. The interesting thing is that we decided to stick with the cheaper car insurance we were able to get when we needed it.
I was under the wrong impression that cheaper car insurance was not so good. I was wrong. It is not about the actual policy, it is about how much you are paying for the policy. Read more »
When you run a business, you begin to understand how important it is to keep up the morale within your company. A great company is defined by the employees who are delivering the business the work. Whether they are the janitor or the executives, I’ve held the firm philosophy that everyone should be treated with equal care and not be treated any differently simply because they might be lower on the corporate rung. When I’m choosing corporate gifts I make sure that each and every single gift is tailored to the people that I know – I make an effort to get to know every employee that we have or at the very least, have my assistants learn about them. My two offices are located about three hours apart from one another. I own a company that helps people decide where to invest their money. One of my offices is located in a very wealthy area and produces barely any sales while the office located in a middle class area is producing hundreds of thousands of dollars in profits. I knew I had to have a team development meeting as I wanted to have a few of my employees from one of the offices talk to my other office, telling them what they do to close a sale. It is one thing for me to get angry and tell one of my employees that they are slackers, and it is another thing for my team to tell each other what they are doing wrong. Read more »
It is easy to spot great web design if you look for it. Even your average consumer can recognize it. You see it when you go to a website that is pleasant to look at. That is the first clue. There should be no effort at reading the content. Videos should load and play smoothly without buffering. People have fast Internet connections, and the buffering is often caused by slow servers. Good design of websites also includes the infrastructure that keeps it working.
The next thing you should notice about great design of websites is that everything works and flows from point to point very smoothly. Everything from the homepage to the checkout cart should function without the customer or user having to think about how the technology works. The experience should flow transparently in the background without the customer or user even noticing.
It hasn’t been long since I graduated from college, tens of thousands of dollars worth of paper in my hand showing the rest of the world that ‘ve done something ‘amazing’ – graduating! Oh yes, my diploma is certainly meant to help me find graduate jobs, isn’t it? Recently, I have found difficulty in doing just this thing. While I did find work as an intern it was, unsurprisingly, a position that did not produce any sort of income. There is a growing problem within the intern industry; many positions are unpaid positions and there is a sense that many interns, who are newly graduated, are being taken advantage of and used as something akin to serfs. This is a serious issue that needs to be taken look at by the Department of Labor and the fact that they continue to allow this to carry on is simply absurd, possibly even criminal.
That we as a society allow our graduates, and our university students, to work for nothing is absolutely terrible.
This year we just opened up our very first ‘business’. It is more of a collective of artists than a proper business that I would imagine but there is a front that is allowing us to make money. We decided a long time ago that there was no way that any of us would be able to pursue a meaningful art career without some serious sacrifices which we reasonably wanted to avoid. So, with this threat looming over us we banded together and formed a logo design company. Starting off as a non-profit group, we provided artistic creations to anyone who needed any sort of design, logo or mural done.
So you just started your new business and decided to start a web page for it, because that is the age we live in. You decided to try it yourself and perhaps even learned a bit of HTML but you are not getting the customers you had hoped for from the web site. So what went wrong here? The most likely culprit is bad web design. What were the pitfalls that you may have missed while making your site as far as web design goes?
1. Is your site easy to naviagte? Many times when first designing a site you can fail to make sure the site itself is easy to navigate or the navagation bars will jump around depending on what page you are on.
I have been away from home for the longest time. My mom and I are estranged. I thought it was just a phase: the mother-daughter-rift drama, but she just did not stop driving me crazy.
After I graduated from high school, I was offered a modeling job in San Francisco. From then on, I have been doing modeling gigs in Paris and Milan. I was blessed enough have a lot offers and allowed me to establish my “homebase” in Paris, the fashion capital in the world. I am very close to the designers and everything.
I got a phone call from mom the other day, though, that my dad is gravely ill. I made no second thoughts. I arranged a rental agreement with one of my model friends for my Paris home and hired an international relocation company right away for my things to be shipped back to the states. Anything for my Papa.
When it comes to reading some travelers’ travel tips blog; one would surely learn how to properly mingle with locals from his vacation place. This is because people who would write in their blogs would talk about the different experiences they had with their vacation. They would write about how they had gone through with their vacation, how they mingled with the local people, and things like their local culture and customs that the people have in their country.
This is a really good way to study about the local culture and custom of the people. One would learn how to act with respect and courtesy towards the people of his vacation place so that he would not end up doing some offensive things with them. One would also learn about the things that they want to do and so prepare himself in order for him to be able to join such activities.
Aside from that, one would also learn about the local prices of goods, commodities, and local services in the place where he is going to have his vacation. This would be really good so if ever he encounters someone giving a high price; he would know to haggle down and get the real price. This way, he would avoid being a victim of people who are overpricing their goods and services for the tourists.
